Job description

Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP is currently seeking a Legal Assistant to work in our Montreal Office. This full-time permanent legal assistant role will provide support to lawyers in our Litigation practice. This position will play a key role in handling administrative items. We are seeking a highly organized professional individual with excellent client service skills, who thrives in a fast-paced, high performance culture.

You will be focussing on:

  • Transcribe/modify correspondence, agreements, contracts, proceedings, reports and other dictated or handwritten material

  • Perform administrative duties related to the position, including time charges, expense reports and billing

  • Assume responsibility for the agenda and ensure follow-up

  • Maintain filing up to date, including file indexing

  • Make photocopies, transmit faxes, digitalize documents and perform any other duties requested

Skills and Experience Required

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a legal assistant in litigation

  • Excellent knowledge of French and English grammar

  • Good knowledge of Outlook

  • Excellent knowledge of Word, including its advanced features

  • Good knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel

  • Meticulous and detail-oriented

  • Organized and able to manage priorities

  • Team player, versatile and able to work under pressure

  • Autonomous, proactive and able to work quickly

  • Bilinguism
