Pay DetailsThe compensation for this position will be commensurate with experience.ScheduleThis is a Monday to Friday, in-office position based at our Victorville location.Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Support Terminal Managers with Driver safety meetings and provide any necessary information regarding meeting topics.
  • Ensure Dispatchers are trained in emergency safety procedures for accident or incident reporting. 
  • Support Terminal Managers with identifying, escalating and/or reporting safety hazards and incidents in a timely manner.
  • Work with Area Managers and Terminal Managers to assess adverse weather and road conditions that will impact operations and Driver safety.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture within service centers and enforce a culture of safety through actions and communications.
  • Provides Leadership, Support and Guidance 
  • Selects, trains, and onboards employees. 
  • Conductsemployeeengagement and performance management expectations. 
  • Supports Terminal Managers for Driver engagement and retention initiatives.  
  • Ensures compliance with Company policies and procedures. 
  • Establish employee schedules toensure appropriate coverage to meet service requirements. 
  • Supports Terminal Manager in resolving Driver issues and front-line communications.  
  • Escalates Driver issues to Terminal Manager as appropriate. 
  • Assistsand coachesDispatchersin the management of driver performance & relationships. 
  • Facilitates time off approvals for Drivers and makes Terminal Managers aware for scheduling purposes. 
  • Additional point of contact for service, operation performance, and non-conformance issues. 
  • Ensures Dispatch team meets customer expectations for on-time deliveries and associated communications in a prompt and timely manner. 
  • Strong understanding of customers' needs and expectations for all day-to-day operational considerations.  
  • Point of contact regarding customer and service issues and escalating issues to Terminal Manager as needed. 
  • Strong understanding of lane profitability and driver capacity with ability to balance competing priorities to ensure long-term customer satisfaction. 
  • Running and/or reviewing customer-related reports to ensure ongoing satisfaction, productivity and compliance and escalating issues to Terminal Managers as necessary.  
  • Establish communication protocols with customers to focus on service delivery. 
  • Support obtaining paperwork for customer billing. 
  • Oversees Order entry, status reporting, exception management and notifications. 
  • Analyzes Driver and equipment utilization metrics and ensure utilization is meeting expectations set by Terminal Managers and communicating results and trends as needed. 
  • Works in conjunction with Terminal Managers to identify and schedule equipment due for maintenance. 
  • Escalate equipment issues to the Terminal Manager so they are informed about subsequent fleet planning. 
  • Follows-up with shop and/or wash equipment being repaired or washed for fleet planning purposes. 
  • Responsible and accountable for key performance indicators for business dispatched by their team (On-Time Delivery, PDI, RCR, Loaded Mile %, etc.); 
  • Identifies opportunities for increased profitability by reviewing reports and metrics and escalating opportunities to Terminal Managers. 
  • Supports Terminal Managers with daily trip audits, reviewing trip standards, and providing insight and information for terminal's financial scorecard. 
  • Support Sales and Operational teams for onboarding new customers. 
Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of the transportation industry is an asset.
  • Strong analytical ability with good judgement.
  • Proactive and decisive when making decisions. 
  • Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
  • Willingness to fill-in for Terminal Manager on a as needed basis.
  • 3 - 5 years of related experience and/or training. 
  • Experience using computers and good keyboarding skills, 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Mandatory High School Diploma, bachelor's degree preferred.
