About This Position:

Our 18-bed Skilled Nursing Unit at Lee Memorial Hospital provides specialized, patient-centered rehabilitation for individuals recovering from illness, injury, or surgery. Our licensed physical, occupational, and speech therapists collaborate closely with physicians to deliver individualized care plans that restore function, mobility, and independence. We offer a comprehensive range of services, including post-acute care, neurological therapy, and tailored specialty programs to meet each patients unique needs. Our unit proudly holds a CMS Five-Star Quality Rating which reflects our commitment to exceptional outcomes. Our approach centers on individualized care planning, allowing us to focus on outcomes that truly matter for each patients recovery. With a focus on compassionate, high-quality care, our team empowers patients to achieve their best outcomes in a supportive, healing environment.

In this role you will be responsible for providing screening, evaluation, treatment, and education for those who demonstrate impairments of speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, fluency, and/or swallowing. The Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for adherence to and compliance with all American Speech-Language Pathology (ASHA) professional standards. The SLP is engaged in administration, consultation, education and research. The SLP is expected to conduct themselves in an effective professional behavior manner. The attributes, characteristics or behaviors required for success in this job include: critical thinking, communication, problem solving, interpersonal skills, responsibility, professionalism, use of constructive feedback, effective use of time and resources, stress management, and commitment to learning.

About our Rehabilitation Team:

Our Rehabilitation Services team is one of the largest and most dynamic in the region. With over 700 skilled professionals dedicated to helping patients regain strength, mobility, and independence through comprehensive, compassionate care. Our licensed physical, occupational, and speech therapists work closely with medical teams to create individualized treatment plans tailored to each patients unique needs. Beyond core therapy services, we offer a variety of specialty programs including neurological rehabilitation, vestibular and balance therapy, lymphedema management, pelvic health therapy, and oncology rehabilitation. With services spanning acute care, skilled nursing, home health, and outpatient settings, our team delivers exceptional, evidence-based care that restores function and enhances quality of life.

What This Position Requires:

Education: Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.

Experience: Certificate of Clinical Competency.

Certification: BLS (American Heart Association / Basic Life Support).

License:Active Florida State Speech Language Pathologist Licensure.
