Job description

Concord Road Elementary School is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Leave Replacement School Psychologist for the 2026-2027 school year.

NATURE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB:

The school psychologist will support students with diverse social, emotional, and cognitive needs within an academically rigorous environment. The ideal candidate will conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations, provide evidence-based interventions, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure students' psychological well-being is integrated into their educational success. This role requires a deep commitment to fostering student resilience, self-advocacy, and social-emotional growth. 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Experience in supportive class settings (9:1:3 and 12:1:2)
  • Experience with students with and without developmental disabilities and emotional/behavioral needs.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, including teachers, administrators, and related service providers
  • Evaluation and IEP writing experience is essential
  • Experience chairing CSE meetings
  • FBA, BIP, MTSS and CPI experience preferred 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possess a valid New York State Certification
  • Working knowledge of the Commissioner's Part 200 Regulations, including LRE
  • Experience working with students with special needs
  • Leadership role within the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) team process
  • Administer comprehensive psychological evaluations
  • Successfully chair CSE/504 meetings and IEP development
  • Strong counseling background (both individual and group)
  • Demonstrate highly effective communication skills with parents, students, and staff
  • Evidence of ability to work collaboratively and successfully consult with parents, teachers, related service providers, and other school personnel
  • Working knowledge of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) preferred
  • Crisis intervention and behavioral intervention skills. BCBA Certification highly preferred
  • Effectively supervise psychology interns
  • Effectively perform all other duties as assigned

  • NYS Certification: School Psychologist

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • This is a full year leave replacement position.

EVALUATION:

  • Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board's policy on evaluation of certified staff.
