Leave of Absence Speech-Language Pathologist

June 1, 2026 - January 21, 2027

 

The Department of Special Services is looking for a dynamic, licensed Speech-Language Pathologist who has experience providing therapy with middle school students on the spectrum and those with developmental disabilities for a leave replacement position from on or about June 1, 2026, through January 21, 2027. Experience with the integrated model is a strength. We use a multidisciplinary approach, which emphasizes teamwork, communication, and collaboration. New Jersey certification required. Services include individual, group, push-in and pull-out settings dependent on the child's IEP. Evaluations of students for speech services is another requirement.

 

The following experiences are an integral part of the position:

 
  • Experience with PROMPT therapy

  • Use of AAC devices

  • Determining appropriate speech therapy treatment plans through documented evaluations and consultations

  • Consistently providing only the highest quality of speech therapy service

  • Maintaining an in-depth knowledge of all State regulations pertaining to the services provided

  • Collaborate with staff in developing a comprehensive plan to provide activities and support to meet the speech and language learning goals.

  • Communicate effectively with parents about progress and home support

  • Experience logging of SEMI services
