Job description

Position Summary:

Assists in the administration of various employment processes and employee benefit plans such as life, health, dental, and disability insurances, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, workers compensation, and unemployment by performing the following duties. This is a Temporary assignment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Enrolls new employees in benefit plans and provides benefits orientation.
• Processes status changes and reviews claims.
• Processes open enrollment benefit plan transfers.
• Maintains vendor contact to investigate discrepancies and provide information in non-routine situations.
• Provides vendors appropriate documentation for life, pension, and disability benefits claims.
• Assists in preparing materials and in presenting benefit plan changes to employees.
• Processes leave of absence approvals and rejections.
• Responds to notifications from state agency regarding unemployment claims filed by former employees; represents organization in unemployment claim hearings.
• Issues annual individual summary of benefits to employees.
• Manages pre- and post-employment drug screening programs.
• Works with safety coordinator to coordinate and manage workers’ compensation leaves and medical appointments.
• Coordinates travel by interfacing with travel services vendor and assisting employees with travel arrangements as necessary.
• Maintains employee benefit files and other record keeping.


Education/ Skills/ Experience:

• Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Required skills:

o Time management
o Proficiency with computer systems and applications, networked systems and personal computers, in the performance of work assignments, such as electronic spreadsheets, word processing and graphics and human resources databases.

Compensation:
$50,000-$65,000 per year
