The Leasing Manager's primary goals are to enhance and create further property value through all aspects of leasing within the industrial portfolio. This includes providing overall leasing support to the regional portfolio group to ensure best in class standards. Responsibilities primarily include negotiating new leases, lease renewals and amendments, and coordinating with asset management, property management, construction and legal departments to ensure successful results.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Act as the primary leasing support for assigned projects.
  • Champion all leasing initiatives within the industrial portfolio.
  • Negotiate within the established leasing parameters all tenant deals, offers, and leases for assigned projects.
  • Review and obtain all internal approvals for each deal including leasing assignments, subleases and transfers for the portfolio.
  • Provide strategic direction market intelligence for tenant mix.
  • Work closely with asset management, property management, construction, legal to ensure properties are maintained in a "first class manner" and ensures the standardization of lease policies, procedures and documents.
  • Responsible for creating leasing programs in line with company strategy.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and brokers on an ongoing basis.
  • Assist in the promoting of all assigned projects and proactively looking for new tenants to fill vacant spaces.
  • Provide market rental and incentive intelligence for existing/development projects to maximize returns.
  • Oversee assigned portfolio leasing budgets, quarterly reforecasting and work with other members of the leasing and asset management teams in fulfilling various reports and requirements as assigned.
  • Provide regular reporting on all projects and transactions as required and continuously monitor performance against budget.
  • Provide administrative and marketing support to leasing and asset management teams.
  • Report regularly on leasing activities and initiatives
  • Look for value add opportunities within the portfolio
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education related to real estate, business, and/or finance.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive leasing experience. Industrial leasing experience is considered a strong asset.
  • The ideal candidate will be able to speak to a list of transactions that they have completed and showcase where they have relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Financial acumen - understands the metrics related to industrial leasing.
  • Solid understanding of lease documents and real estate terminology.
  • Results-focused - the ideal candidate will provide a track record of delivering results.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure, in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects under strict deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and be able to travel locally to tours and meetings, and nationally for portfolio leasing in other provinces.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite andVTS with the ability to adapt to new systems.
  • Skill withpower BI, retool, buildout, agiloft and propconn considered an asset.
