What is a lease pumper?

Lease pumpers are oil and gas field workers responsible for operating and maintaining equipment on oil and gas leases. Their main duties include monitoring production, recording data, and ensuring that equipment such as pumps, tanks, and pipelines are functioning properly. They also perform routine inspections, minor repairs, and may be responsible for reporting any issues or irregularities to supervisors. Lease pumpers often work independently and travel between multiple sites to ensure optimal production and safety standards are met.

What does a lease pumper do?

A Lease Pumper is responsible for monitoring and maintaining oil and gas wells to ensure optimal production and compliance with safety and environmental standards. Daily tasks often include checking equipment for leaks, measuring production rates, recording data, and performing routine maintenance on pumps and gauges. Their attention to detail and proactive maintenance directly affect production efficiency and the longevity of equipment, making their role critical to successful field operations.
