Job description


You will report directly to our Engineering Manager and you'll work out of our Tempe, AZ location on a Hybrid work schedule.
In this role, you will impact the future of technology and industry solutions by ensuring that the system design aligns with Honeywell's quality standards and industry best practices. Your expertise in systems engineering, project management, and technical leadership will be instrumental in shaping innovative solutions that meet or exceed the required technical standards for our customers.

Responsibilities
  • Authoring and ensuring development process follows system safety program plans
  • Reliability analysis - Allocations to define requirements
  • Functional hazard analysis
  • Failure conditions requirements analysis
  • Safety requirements decomposition
  • Model based development system design
  • Systems integration
  • Reliability predictions throughout design process
  • Failure mode, effects, and criticality analysis (FMECA)
  • Safety requirements validation & verification
  • Development of fault tree analysis and common mode failures
  • Driving design development based on safety principles
  • Aftermarket safety analysis and reliability metrics tracking
  • Customer interaction
  • Project coordination within a team and/or leading a small team of RMSS engineers

Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.
  • Demonstrated experience in system safety analysis per ARP4754, ARP4761, MIL-STD 785, and MIL-STD 882
  • 10+ years of experience in systems engineering or related fields.
  • Strong technical background in systems engineering, including experience with hardware and software components.

  • Advanced Engineering degrees like MS in Reliability Engineering or related fields
  • Experience or course work in Probability & Statistics
  • Understanding of certification regulations, guidance, and typical qualification expectations.
  • Experience with systems engineering methodologies and tools, including model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and requirements management.
  • Experience with reliability predictions, reliability testing, FMEA, fault tree analysis, CMA, and requirements management.
  • Experience in leading complex aerospace system integration projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Passion for innovation and continuous learning.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
