SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
The Senior Manager - Information Systems is responsible for the strategy, governance, and performance of enterprise information systems supporting blood collection, laboratory testing, manufacturing, and distribution operations. This role ensures systems are reliable, compliant, and aligned with business objectives while enabling operational efficiency and patient safety in a regulated healthcare environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Information Systems Leadership (35%)
  • Lead the strategy, implementation, and lifecycle management of enterprise information systems.
  • Oversee systems supporting critical operations, including:
    • Laboratory Information Systems (LIS)
    • Donor Management Systems
    • Manufacturing and Quality Systems
    • ERP and Supply Chain Applications
  • Ensure system reliability, scalability, and alignment with organizational priorities.

Application Governance & Optimization (25%)
  • Establish and maintain governance frameworks for system utilization, enhancements, and upgrades.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to continuously optimize workflows and system performance.
  • Prioritize and manage application roadmaps aligned with operational and clinical needs.
  • Ensure proper documentation, validation, and lifecycle management of systems.

Compliance & Regulatory Oversight (20%)
  • Ensure all systems meet compliance requirements including FDA, AABB, HIPAA, and GxP standards.
  • Support system validation, audit readiness, and regulatory inspections.
  • Maintain change control processes and documentation in alignment with quality standards.

Business Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement (10%)
  • Collaborate with clinical, laboratory, manufacturing, and administrative leaders to align systems with operational needs.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor for system capabilities, enhancements, and innovations.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Team Leadership & Development (10%)
  • Lead and develop a team of analysts and application specialists.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and service excellence.
  • Support workforce planning and succession development.

Required Qualifications:
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or related field required.
  • Master's degree preferred.

Experience:
  • 8-12+ years of experience in information systems, enterprise applications, or IT systems management.
  • 3-5+ years in leadership roles.
  • Experience in healthcare, life sciences, blood banking, or regulated manufacturing required.
  • Strong understanding of system validation, compliance, and regulatory environments.
  • Experience managing enterprise platforms such as LIS, ERP, or clinical systems.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with system integration and interoperability (HL7, APIs, middleware).
  • Familiarity with cloud-based enterprise systems and platforms.
  • ITIL or relevant certifications.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:
  • Work Environment: Hybrid (in-office and remote).
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Travel: Occasional travel for site visits or vendor meetings.
  • Schedule: Standard business hours with after-hours support as needed.
