It covers over 650 square miles of very diverse topography; from valley flatlands to foothills to mountains. It serves a growing community with a current enrollment of nearly 21,000 students.

Job Summary Job Summary Job Summary: Hemet USD is committed to building continuous improvement capability throughout the district in order to effectively and reliably meet the needs of all students it serves. Building improvement capability at this scale requires the development of a learning environment that allows for (1) close collaboration between district and site-based staff who are closest to the work of educating students (2) ongoing learning and application of improvement methodologies on problems that occur in the day-to-day work at the district and sites (3) iterative design and testing cycles of changes to improve district-wide outcomes.

Under the direction of an assigned director in Educational Services, the Learning Improvement Site Support Specialist plays an integral role in collaborating with district leaders and site-based staff to understand systemic problems that impact the ability to understand and meet student and caregiver needs. The goal of the Learning Improvement Site Support Specialist is to build teacher capacity and their understanding of instructional best practices to positively impact student outcomes using adult learning theory and improvement science tools and strategies. A Learning Improvement Site Support Specialist is a learner who models continuous improvement, lifelong learning and goes above and beyond to ensure student success.

The focus is on continuous improvement in classrooms; utilization of data to integrate short cycles of improvement to meet the overall goal(s); and establishing effective rapport with teachers, students, and administrators. The Learning Improvement Site Support Specialist works collaboratively with the district and school leadership teams to ensure alignment of the district's vision, mission, and values.
