Manager โ€“ Strategic Learning Business Consultant

Capital One's Enterprise Learning & Development team is looking for a Strategic Business Consultant to shape and deliver the learning and development strategy to support our Enterprise Services, Software, Business Cards & Payments and enterprise Tech teams. Youโ€™ll partner with key business and Human Resources (HR) leaders to design and implement learning initiatives for hundreds of associates spanning multiple job families within these lines of businesses.

Role Overview
  • Partner with account executives, HR leaders, and key business stakeholders to coโ€‘create the annual strategic learning agenda, defining vision, OKRs, operating and governance models, and ensuring seamless integration and execution across business and learning initiatives.
  • Collaborate with business partners to maximize knowledge sharing, peer learning, and optimize resource allocation to achieve broader strategy.
  • Lead design and delivery of learning programs and iterate from feedback and data.
  • Project manage multiple initiatives, leading program teams and providing strategic support as needed.
  • Manage project scope, timelines, and budget, identifying and mitigating risks or escalating as necessary.
  • Own measurement and evaluation strategy to ensure learning solutions deliver desired outcomes.
  • Collaborate on learner communications and external storytelling, sharing insights and outcomes about your work.
What You Need to Be Successful
  • Experience educating, onboarding, and supporting large matrix organizations.
  • Experience partnering with key stakeholders to identify strategic opportunities and define new initiatives for business impact.
  • Communicate effectively both written and verbally, able to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, lead through change, and deliver in a matrixed environment.
  • High level of initiative, ownership, and a customerโ€‘centric mindset.
  • Demonstrated success collaborating with other L&D professionals to drive efficiencies and share best practices.
  • Apply expertise in adult learning to shape learning strategy and products.
  • Comfort facilitating and leading training/workshops effectively, engaging at all levels.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree.
  • At least 3 years of experience in clientโ€‘facing consulting.
  • At least 2 years of experience in learning and development.
  • At least 1 year of experience in project management.
  • At least 1 year of experience in learning strategy creation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience advising and influencing leadership.
  • 5+ years of management consulting experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in strategy creation.
  • Familiarity with change management.
  • Experience facilitating across a variety of modalities including in person and virtual programs.

Salary and Benefits

The minimum and maximum fullโ€‘time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location.

  • McLean, VA: $134,400 โ€“ $153,300 for Learning Manager.
  • Richmond, VA: $122,100 โ€“ $139,400 for Learning Manager.

This role is also eligible to earn performanceโ€‘based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or longโ€‘term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or nonโ€‘discretionary depending on the plan.
