Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary
The purpose of this position is to assist in meeting the social, emotional, cognitive and physical needs of a group of young children and model for Child Development/Education (CDEC) students appropriate teaching and care-giving practices.
Minimum Qualifications
Current Del Mar College student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours while employed.
Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Knowledge of Texas Child Care Minimum Standards as well as developmentally appropriate teaching and care-giving practices for children 18 months through 5 years.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in communicating with other staff, parents, DMC students and faculty as well as modeling appropriate language, vocabulary and writing for children.
Preferred Qualifications
Enrolled in 6 credit hours of Early Childhood courses while employed.
Completion of 6 credit hours in Child Development or Early Education ***OR*** a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential (transcript required with application).
Current Pediatric First Aid and CPR Certification (documentation of current certification required with application).
Food Handler's Certificate (documentation of current certification required with application).
