Special Education Teacher
Full-Time | San Diego, CA
How you'll be there for students:
Be their advocate, difference maker, and mentor.
Be there to design each student's learning path based on their unique needs. With our proven curriculum and ongoing support, you can be wholly present and do what you love to do: support and empower students to be the best they can be and provide a safe space for them to learn and grow.
Responsibilities
How you'll do it:
  • Utilize Catapult Learning models to teach knowledge, build confidence, and address student needs.
  • Provide academic, social, and emotional support for students requiring extra assistance.
  • Conduct assessments, develop data-driven plans, and collaborate with school staff and families to enhance student outcomes.
  • Implement behavior support and crisis intervention strategies to ensure a safe learning environment.
  • Maintain instructional materials, computer lab components, and a positive classroom atmosphere.
  • Identify eligible students through testing and enroll them per Catapult Learning guidelines.
  • Develop individualized lesson plans, behavioral assessments, and support plans.
  • Supervise students, ensuring safe transitions to and from classrooms.
  • Attend training, pass assessments, and deliver targeted instruction to eligible students.

Qualifications
What we'll need from you:
The positive, enthusiastic teacher we seek has these qualifications.
  • Valid Special Education Teaching Credential in CA
  • 5+ years of experience teaching preferred.
  • Unwavering belief that all children can learn.
  • Experience working with grade Level is K - 8th, literacy and math.
  • Ability to navigate online platforms for record keeping and communication.
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Flexible and Adaptable
  • Schedule is roughly 20 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, but TBD.
