Position Summary
Responsible to the Department of Nursing Chair and the Nursing Lab Coordinator for coordinating and supporting simulation-based and skills-learning activities within the nursing Labs. This position focuses on preparing, setting up, and assisting with simulation experiences, maintaining simulation and lab equipment, and hosting open lab sessions that provide students with opportunities for independent practice and skill development in a safe, supportive environment. This is a part-time contract position funded by the Department of Nursing.
This is not a full-time position and there are no full-time benefits with the position.

Essential Functions
  • Coordinate and prepare simulation and skills lab setups, including equipment, manikins, task trainers, and supplies needed for scheduled scenarios and class activities.
  • Assist faculty during simulation sessions, including operation of simulation technology, manikin programming, and scenario flow managmenet.
  • Host and supervise open lab hours for student practice, providing guidance, feedback, and support to help students reinforce clinical and technical skills.
  • Maintain an inventory for simulation and skills lab equipment, ensuing all items are functional, organized, and ready for instructional use.
  • Collaborate with nursing faculty to ensure simulation and skills activities align with curriculum outcomes and meet program accreditation standards.

Education & Experience
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.
  • Current Utah RN license.
  • Ability to interact positively with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups.
  • Experience with Google Workspace applications (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous clinical nursing experience preferred.
