Temporary Part-time: Nursing Laboratory Assistant

This position requires standing and bending constantly for minimally three hours per day, sitting for up to five hours per day, and light lifting up to 40 lbs. The ability to stand on a ladder and reach above your head is required. Availability for travel between College locations on a regular basis is required. Duties, qualifications, and responsibilities may change at the discretion of the College at any time. Dexterity in working with computers is mandatory.

Position Goals - The Nursing Laboratory Assistant will report directly to the Director of Nursing Programs and will provide support to the Lab Coordinator, Lab Staff, and Nursing Faculty. Job Description - Demonstrates excellent communication skills. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills. Prepares and cleans up the college nursing laboratories for scheduled lab classes. Cleans and maintains lab equipment including manikins and models. Orders and maintains laboratory supplies to maintain par levels and lab equipment through communication with vendors to obtain estimates/quotes and communicates needs to laboratory coordinator. Organizes and maintains laboratory environment including making sure all equipment is in working order. Maintains simulation equipment and hardware warranties. Updates pyxis and prepares simulated medications for use in skills lab. Tracks open lab hours for nursing students enrolled in CCC nursing courses in coordination with CTE coach. Assists simulation faculty/teaching administrators in preparation for and during scheduled simulation exercises. Provides general assistance to the success of laboratory offerings in all Camden County College nursing courses. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including day and evening hours. Travels between the Joint Health Sciences Center in Camden, NJ and Blackwood, NJ. Other duties as assigned by supervisor and Director.

Minimum Qualifications - Certification in health-related field or Associate in Science (AS) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Computer competencies to include but not limited to Microsoft Office, Canvas, Electronic Health Records, and Google suite.
