Job description

SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, The Learning Experience Designer is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing engaging, performance-driven learning experiences that support both internal and external training needs. This role focuses on educating employees and partners on Motion processes, industry and product principles, application use cases, and sales enablement strategies to drive improved commercial performance.

The Learning Experience Designer partners closely with internal departments, field specialists, vendors, Sales Enablement, Technical Training Specialists, SMEs, and business leaders to create practical, scalable learning solutions that enhance employee effectiveness, tool adoption, product knowledge, and commercial execution.

This role requires a balance of instructional design expertise, business acumen, and the ability to translate complex technical and sales concepts into clear, actionable learning experiences.

JOB DUTIES

  • Designs and develops scalable onboarding, sales process, CRM/sales tool, and product training programs using blended learning strategies (virtual instructor-led training, eLearning, job aids, workflow support tools, microlearning, and reinforcement strategies).
  • Applies adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE or similar frameworks).
  • Translates complex technical processes, sales workflows, and product principles into practical, performance-based learning solutions.
  • Develops facilitator guides, learner workbooks, job aids, assessments, knowledge checks, and reinforcement materials.
  • Incorporates multimedia elements such as video, simulations, interactive scenarios, animations, and instructional graphics to enhance engagement and retention.
  • Leverages AI-enabled tools and digital learning technologies where appropriate to increase efficiency and learner impact.
  • Conducts SME interviews and discovery sessions to extract insights and convert them into structured, measurable learning experiences.
  • Partners with Sales Enablement, Technical Training Specialists, field leaders, and business stakeholders to align training with commercial priorities.
  • Manages cross-functional project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure on-time and high-quality execution.
  • Manages and maintains learning content within the LMS and shared platforms.
  • Continuously improves programs based on learner input.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Business or a related field and three (3) to five (5) years of instructional design experience in a corporate or commercial environment, or an equivalent combination.
  • The ideal candidate has experience supporting sales organizations and can translate real-world workflows into actionable learning experiences that drive measurable business outcomes.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Strong understanding of adult learning theory and performance-based instructional design
  • Experience developing eLearning using tools such as Articulate 360, Camtasia, Adobe Captivate, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience managing content within a Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills
  • Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into clear, concise, and practical learning materials
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or distribution organizations
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to simplify highly technical applications into easy-to-understand learning content.
  • Experience in B2B sales environments
  • Familiarity with structured sales methodologies
  • Certification in instructional design, learning technologies, or related discipline
  • Experience designing onboarding programs, certification pathways, or role-based curricula
  • Experience supporting CRM or sales tool adoption initiatives
  • Bilingual a plus but not required
