What You'll Do
Do you thrive on turning complex ideas into engaging, high-impact learning experiences?
As an Instructional Design Senior Coordinator, you'll be a hands-on contributor within the Curriculum Design team, part of Learning & Development under Talent. In this role, you'll support the Firm by designing, developing, and continuously improving learning programs that are engaging, scalable, and aligned to business needs. You'll bring deep expertise in eLearning authoring-especially Articulate 360 and Camtasia-to help shape how people learn, grow, and perform across the organization.
  • End-to-end learning design: Design and deliver instructor-led, virtual, and eLearning programs from concept and storyboarding through Alpha, Beta, and Gold builds, ensuring alignment with learning objectives and organizational standards.
  • eLearning authoring and multimedia development: Create engaging, interactive eLearning and multimedia assets using Articulate 360 (Rise and Storyline) and Camtasia for video-based training development, screen capture, and multimedia editing.
  • Needs assessment and solution strategy: Conduct comprehensive needs analyses to identify skill gaps , design effective , learner-centered solutions, and make recommendations on improvements to content management, workflow processes, and user experience.
  • Stakeholder partnership and alignment : Partner with subject matter experts, internal teams, external vendors, and matrix stakeholders to deliver high-quality learning experiences aligned with firm strategy. Maintain alignment across stakeholders to ensure efficiency and effectiveness with deployment of courses, avoiding conflicting concepts and approaches.
  • Learning assets, quality assurance, and reporting: Develop and maintain learning resources-including facilitator guides, participant workbooks, job aids, and video tutorials. Conduct LMS quality assurance and testing, ensuring deliverables meet stakeholder expectations and branding standards. Provide summary reporting of programs for broader leadership knowledge and buy-in.
  • Innovation, continuous improvement, and efficiency: Apply emerging learning technologies, research, AI, and automation to improve workflows, user experience, and overall learning effectiveness while building team capabilities. Stay informed on trends within legal and professional services firms to enhance the design and delivery of learning programs.
  • Professional growth and engagement: Participate in training activities to increase personal skill levels and improve overall understanding of learning and development. Actively contribute in meetings and team initiatives.

What You'll Bring
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Learning Sciences, Education, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in instructional design, eLearning development, or a related Learning & Development role.
  • eLearning portfolio: Demonstrated proficiency in Articulate 360 (Storyline and/or Rise) and Camtasia, with a portfolio showcasing interactive modules, video-based learning, and multimedia assets.
  • Learning methodologies: Strong knowledge of ADDIE, design thinking, blended learning, adult learning theory, and microlearning approaches.
  • Analytics , problem-solving, and evaluation: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to identify training needs, evaluate learning outcomes, and propose data-driven improvements. Experience using learning analytics and data to measure effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
  • Communication , facilitation, and presentation: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely. Strong facilitation and presentation skills to deliver engaging learning experiences.
  • Collaboration and stakeholder management: Proven ability to partner across functions, manage vendors, and work effectively within matrixed teams.
  • Agility and project management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities with strong organizational and time management skills. Adapts approach, goals, and methods to achieve solutions and results in dynamic situations.
  • Technical fluency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), learning management systems (including content upload [H4] , metadata management, and functionality testing), survey tools, and assessment strategies.
  • Additional strengths: Experience with studio and teleprompter-based recordings; familiarity with Continuing Legal Education (CLE) processes and eligibility criteria is a plus; consistent application of established templates, visual standards, and branding to ensure clarity and accessibility; a strong customer service mindset and passion for developing people.
  • Business insight and collaboration: Applies a solid understanding of industry best practices to enhance interactions and deliverables. Proactively recognizes and appreciates contributions of collaborators and understands when to bring in team members for support.

Compensation
The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position in Chicago. This range may differ based on your geographic location and cost of living considerations. At Kirkland & Ellis, we consider compensation more than just a base salary. Compensation Range:
Chicago: $76,000 - $95,000
