Job description

WHO WE ARE:

The mission of Maryland Family Network (MFN) is to ensure that very young children have strong families, quality early learning environments, and a champion for their interests. We work in collaboration with public and private funders, community-based organizations, parents, and other individuals and agencies to support those who care for young children as families strive to reach their goals. Through two-generation programs that support parents to become economically self-sufficient, raise healthy, successful children, and find quality child care; through regional services that help child care professionals improve their practice; and through public policy advocacy of programs and policies that benefit families with young children, MFN strives to ensure that all Maryland children are cared for by adults who are skilled to raise them in environments that are conducive to growth and development.

POSITION PURPOSE:

The purpose of the Training Development Coordinator is to serve as the lead contact for the organization’s Learning Management System (LMS). The Training Development Coordinator will lead the department’s training development initiatives by hosting, developing, and delivering in-person, virtual instructor-led, online, and blended training. The Coordinator will also ensure that all tasks associated with training development and delivery are completed as requested and meet established quality standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • In collaboration with the Training Director, develop and implement training plans, schedules, and programs (in-house and outsourced)
  • Evaluate and continuously improve training content, delivery methods, and processes to ensure quality and effectiveness
  • Select appropriate training methods based on subject matter and audience (e.g., virtual, simulation, mentoring, on-the-job training, professional development) Coordinate and manage training activities for internal staff and external partners, including planning, outreach, curriculum development, logistics, material preparation, and communication with facilitators and speakers
  • Provide training, technical assistance, and support related to agency programs and initiatives
  • Create, design, and maintain online learning courses using various applications, including video editing and instructional design tools
  • Develop and edit video content as needed
  • Serve as system administrator and primary point of contact for the Learning Management System (LMS), including maintaining SOPs, tracking core knowledge hours, and ensuring system functionality
  • Maintain and enhance departmental systems and processes, including LMS and Salesforce; configure systems, workflows, and integrations for optimal performance
  • Gather, track, and maintain training-related data and records to support the development of key performance metrics, evaluate training outcomes, and measure return on investment (ROI)
  • Provide audio and technical support for live trainings, meetings, and events to ensure successful execution and a high-quality participant experience.
  • Support agency outreach efforts and event planning
  • Lead and participate in projects independently and collaboratively

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide training and technical support for all functions in the LMS as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position does not include supervisory responsibilities

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of two (2)years of experience in creating, providing and coordinating in person and on-line training on subjects related to human services or infant/toddler development required
  • At least six (6) months of experience working with adult learners required

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, and LICENSURE:

  • Associate degree in Computer Information Systems, Applied Science or related field required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

MINIMUM TECHNICAL SKILLS and EXPERIENCE:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Forms, and PowerPoint
  • Experience using Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and/or other online meeting platforms
  • Experience with Smartsheet preferred
  • Familiarity with Adobe suite or comparable content editing software
  • Prepare, execute mass mailings / registration using Pardot / Soapbox
  • Proven experience in a leadership role
  • Deep experience in stakeholder engagement, community outreach, or a related field

The physical demands described here are those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
