FlightSafety operates the world’s largest fleet of advanced full-flight simulators and award-winning maintenance training at Learning Centers and training locations in the United States, Canada, France and the United Kingdom.

Purpose of Position

The Contract Administrator, Senior is responsible for performance of prime contract administration, including proposal support for both new business and contract changes, and negotiation / definitization of contract change proposals.

Tasks and Responsibilities

The following duties are essential to the successful and satisfactory performance of this job.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Performs duties required for a Contract Administrator with minimal oversight.
  • Works as a primary member of Proposal Team for new business.  Authors Contract Volume.  Participates in development of strategies for acquisition of new business targets.  Participates in preparation of clarification and/or deficiency responses.  Conducts face-to-face, telephonic and written negotiations as required.
  • Administers prime contracts after award, including day-to-day contact with the customer, review and submission of data deliverables, interpretation of contract requirements and performance monitoring.  Oversees preparation of annotated and/or conformed versions of the contract.  Resolves complex contractual issues with both the customer and the end-user.
  • Participates in preparation of Engineering Change Proposals, Contract Change Proposals.  Reviews labor, material and travel estimates. Reviews and submits change proposals. 
  • Maintains familiarity with on-going technical aspects of the programs and works directly with program management and technical staff.  Maintains currency with all aspects of both the prime contracts and subcontracts, including the Statements of Work, System Specifications, Contract Clauses, Special Contract Requirements and all attachments.
  • Provides interpretation of complex contractual requirements for the Program Management Office.
  • Initiates and transmits written and/or verbal correspondence with both the customer and the end-user.
  • Participates in quarterly Program Management Reviews, System Progress Reviews and System Review boards.
  • Acts as a resource for Contract Administrators; demonstrates an ability to lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements.
  • Travel, as required.
Minimum Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent in education, training and experience. MBA preferred.
Minimum Experience
  • Requires seven (7) or more years of related / relevant experience working contracts with US Government or USG Prime Contractors.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to perform work with minimal guidance of higher-level Contract Administration personnel.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise a high degree of initiative and responsibility.
  • Ability to fluently read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation and its supplements.
  • Proficient knowledge of contract administration.
  • Proficient skills relative to maintaining detailed documentation of contracting transactions.
  • Excellent skills using software programs, such as, Outlook, Word, Excel, Acrobat and PowerPoint.
