Overview

As a Principal Technical Consultant on the Customer Success team, you will partner with customers to create high‑impact software solutions on the Appian platform, driving digital transformation and competitive differentiation.

Responsibilities
  • Lead projects and manage the entire life‑cycle of custom software and AI solutions for commercial clients, from requirements gathering through deployment.
  • Work within an agile environment, define and design relational data models, develop APIs (REST, SOAP, JDBC), and integrate with multiple systems.
  • Brainstorm and implement AI use cases, utilizing retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG), agentic workflows, prompt engineering, and generative models on Appian.
  • Partnership with Appian Architects, Technical Delivery Managers, and client technical teams to drive adoption and empower clients to build self‑sufficient process applications.
  • Mentor and coach junior consultants, fostering a fast‑paced, collaborative implementation culture.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of hands‑on software development or technical consulting experience.
  • B.S./B.A. in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage post‑sale implementations using agile practices (pair programming, stand‑ups, sprint planning).
  • Strong skills in object‑oriented programming, relational database design, SQL (queries, joins, views), and data modeling.
  • Experience with software testing practices, test‑driven development, and continuous integration.
  • Knowledge of API integrations (REST, SOAP), web services, AWS, Google Cloud, and container technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills and a passion for technology and learning.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the year.
