Position Summary
This position is responsible for the collaborative design, development and delivery of training to ensure associate competency and successful associate development. The Learning Specialist delivers classroom, virtual and on-the-job training and coaching across all development competency areas to achieve optimal learning among a diverse population.
Essential Duties(Other duties within the scope of this position may be assigned.)
1. Designs, develops and delivers learning experiences to meet job readiness and career development needs of both job-seekers and Goodwill CCVA associates to include New Hire Orientation.
2. Utilizes non-traditional and/or innovative approaches to deliver prepared training courses using standardized outlines, materials and methodologies, including classroom, on-the-job training, refresher training, and individual coaching sessions to improve performance and accomplish the goals of the organization.
3. Measures progress and effectiveness of learning experiences to inform teaching strategies and practices to best meet diverse consumer needs.
4. Conducts research to determine most appropriate instructional materials based on audience.
5. Partners with leadership across the organization to identify learning and development needs to support program needs and organizational goals that drive the Mission forward. Leads learning projects to include but not limited to POS, Relationship Strategies, utilizing various forms of learning platforms, learning management systems, and associate development.
6. Orders and maintains instructional materials and an adequate inventory of supplies.
7. Provides timely execution of data entry, analysis and reporting to inform program design, development and delivery. Measures progress and effectiveness of training through observation, testing and the utilization of non-traditional and/or innovative approaches to accomplish training goals.
8. Works with the Operations Manager, Learning & Development and Instructional Curriculum Designer to develop course content, outlines, training methodologies, effectiveness measures, facilitator guides, learner guides and multi-media visual-aides.
9. Creates and recommends procedural improvements, ensuring initiatives align with organizational strategic plans.
10. Creates and coordinates training schedules with the hiring and training demands of the organization.
11. Utilizing learning management system and other methods, inputs associate training records in an accurate and timely manner.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The associate in this position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
Education/Experience/Certificates/Security Clearance
โ€ข High School Diploma or GED preferred. Will consider a combination of education and work experience.
โ€ข 1-3 Years' experience in a related field preferred.
โ€ข No professional certifications are required for this position.
โ€ข Valid state driver's license, insurance and satisfactory driving record are required.
โ€ข Required to pass state and federal criminal background and sex offender checks. Depending upon contract specifications, may also be required to pass CPS and LEIE background checks and other background checks as necessary.
โ€ข Ability to operate PC and databases, proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
