About This Role

The Infant Teacher is a key team leader responsible for creating a comprehensive and engaging classroom environment that fosters the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth of young children. They will work collaboratively with their teaching team to develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of every child, while also ensuring a safe and nurturing space for all students. Strong communication skills, a passion for early childhood education, and the ability to build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues are essential for success in this role.


What You'll Do
  • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards, and ensure that all activities are engaging and tailored to meet the unique needs of each child.
  • Motivate and support the teaching team by modeling and coaching best practices, and promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Design and implement activities that promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth, and ensure that all children have opportunities to develop at their own pace.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents through regular progress updates, conferences, and informal discussions, and ensure that all families feel supported and informed.
  • Ensure that all center policies and state regulations are met, and that the classroom environment is safe, healthy, and secure.
  • Supervise and support teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure that they are following all planned activities, safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Maintain accurate records, files, and forms, and stay up-to-date on all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement a personal professional development plan to ensure ongoing quality improvement and growth.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director, and use their vehicle to transport children as needed.

Requirements
  • Educational requirements include a minimum education level of a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age. (21 years of age if working with infants)
  • Must clear a full background check and must pass a health screening.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional childcare experience.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • A strong understanding of child development.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.
  • Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools, or controls, and talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat, or crawl.

Nice To Haves

A Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field and/or a Master's degree is highly desirable. Additionally, experience working with infants and toddlers is a plus.
