About the Position

Nourish Early Learning is looking for a calm, heart-forward, loving assistant to spend their days with our 4-6 year olds. Come grow with us and make an impact in the lives of children! 


Nourish is a child-centered, play-based environment, reggio-inspired early childhood learning center. An assistant would act as a facilitator in the room, supporting the balance of flow of the day (routine) and play. 4-6 year olds are unique in their learning capabilities, fusing together fine and gross motor skills, sensory learning as well as building the communication and self-help skills. Responsibilities


Assistants Educators are responsible for (but not limited to):

  • supporting the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing a curriculum that aligns with developmental milestones, Ohio state standards, and the child-centered, heartful philosophy of Nourish Early Learning
  • assisting in the preparation and execution of engaging classroom activities, including creative expression, sensory play, and nature-based learning experiences
  • contributing to the planning and supervision of appropriate field trips, helping to prepare materials, coordinate logistics, and ensure safety and learning
  • responsibly supervising children to ensure their physical safety and emotional wellbeing at all times—indoors, outdoors, and during transitions—maintaining ratios and ensuring that no child is left unattended
  • providing warm, responsive care, including support with feeding, toileting, rest time, and emotional regulation strategies
  • building meaningful connections with each child and family by observing children closely, listening with intention, and engaging with them through play, storytelling, and conversation
  • modeling and supporting prosocial behavior, problem-solving skills, and peaceful conflict resolution
  • participating in classroom routines such as setup, cleanup, and daily transitions to help maintain a smooth and predictable learning environment
  • maintaining a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that supports learning, creativity, and a sense of belonging
  • collaborating with the teaching team and leadership staff, attending staff meetings, trainings, and reflective supervision as required
  • adhering to all licensing requirements and teaching standards as outlined by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) and the policies of Nourish Early Learning
  • demonstrating a growth mindset and willingness to learn, ask questions, and receive feedback to grow as an educator and team member



Requirements

The requirements for this position include: 

  • Proven 3-5 years of experience as a child care / preschool assistant
  • Knowledge of child development and up-to-date education methods
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Certificate in first aid and CPR, can be attained onsite
  • Bachelors Degree is Early Childhood Education, preferred
  • Childhood Development Associate Certificate or Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, required
  • FBI & BCII background checks complete
  • Workplace physical
