The Development Associate, Special Events & Community Outreach provides essential operational, project management, donor stewardship, and development support to the Special Events & Community Outreach team. Working closely with the Director, Special Events & Community Outreach, the Development Associate is responsible for maintaining accurate donor data, supporting donor cultivation and stewardship activities, tracking revenue performance, and coordinating administrative and financial processes. This position strengthens team efficiency and effectiveness, enabling team leadership to focus on strategic planning, major donor and sponsor relationships, revenue growth, and organizational leadership.
What you'll do in your role:
  • Development Operations: Maintain donor, sponsor, prospect, and event-related records; manage pipeline tracking; create and maintain campaign, event, and fundraising records; generate fundraising and performance reports; track event revenue, sponsorship commitments, donor pledges, and payment status; conduct donor and prospect research; assist with donor portfolios, prospect lists, fundraising analyses, and post-event reporting.
  • Donor Stewardship: Draft special event acknowledgement letters for leadership review and approval; track sponsorship fulfillment and donor benefits; coordinate recognition across events, campaigns, publications, signage, and digital platforms; assist with impact reports, stewardship materials, donor communications, briefing materials, engagement reports, stewardship calendars, fulfillment deliverables, and outreach messages.
  • Financial Operations: Process invoices, payment requests, reimbursements, and expense reports through Concur and organizational systems; prepare and monitor event and campaign financial tracking documents; assist with revenue reconciliation in partnership with Finance and Donor Services; track sponsorship payments, donor commitments, pledge balances, and outstanding invoices; support budget monitoring and expense tracking.
  • Administrative Support: Manage and monitor the SECO shared email inbox; maintain team files, records, templates, and shared resources; develop, document, and update SOPs and workflow processes; prepare reports, presentations, dashboards, and meeting materials; support administrative functions, special projects, and organizational systems that improve operational efficiency and consistency.

What you'll need to be successful in this role:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising operations, donor services, project management, event administration, or related fields.
  • Experience with CRM/database management, preferably Salesforce.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments and with diverse stakeholders.
  • Preferred experience includes donor stewardship, fundraising operations, development services, Asana, Concur, SharePoint, GoFundMe Pro, event fundraising or nonprofit event administration, donor lifecycle management, and fundraising best practices.

Pay Transparency: The salary range for this position is $54,230- $73,370. The final rate may be influenced by factors such as the position's scope and responsibilities, work experience, training, job-related skills, internal equity, and market conditions.
