Overview

In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of the organization's enterprise database landscape across both onpremises and cloud environments. You will support missioncritical PostgreSQL and Oracle systems operating in a 24x7, highavailability setting, strengthening business continuity through effective replication, standby configurations, RAC administration, and disaster recovery strategies. Your expertise will help drive modernization efforts, including database migrations and automation initiatives, while enabling crossfunctional teams to deliver scalable, resilient, and highperforming data solutions.

Responsibilities

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Ensure the reliability, performance, and security of enterprise PostgreSQL and Oracle database environments operating in a 24x7, highavailability production setting.
  • Strengthen the organization's data infrastructure by supporting both onprem and cloudbased databases across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Enhance business continuity by managing replication, standby systems, RAC clusters, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Contribute to modernization initiatives by supporting database migrations, including OracletoPostgreSQL conversions, and by automating routine DBA workflows.

What You'll Achieve

  • Administer, monitor, and maintain PostgreSQL and Oracle databases across production and nonproduction environments.
  • Manage highavailability and disaster recovery configurations, including replication, standby databases, and Oracle RAC.
  • Implement and support Active Data Guard, including switchover and failover operations.
  • Perform patching, upgrades, and lifecycle maintenance with minimal downtime.
  • Execute backup and recovery strategies using RMAN, datapump, pg_dump, WAL, and PITR.
  • Conduct performance tuning, query optimization, and rootcause troubleshooting.
  • Support cloudhosted database environments, including RDS and other managed services.
  • Automate recurring DBA tasks using scripting languages and tooling.
  • Collaborate with application, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to deliver scalable, resilient solutions.
  • Participate in oncall rotations and provide production support as needed.
Qualifications

What You'll Bring with You

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in database administration.
  • Strong handson expertise with PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with Oracle technologies, including RAC, Data Guard, and RMAN.
  • Background working in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Proficiency in SQL, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and highavailability architectures.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix systems.
  • Scripting skills (Shell, Python, or similar).

  • Experience with database migration and modernization initiatives.
  • Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

Base Salary: $63,600.00 - $118,000.00 annually.

Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon, but not limited to the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location and application employment laws. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.

 Compensation Range: USD $63,600.00 - USD $118,000.00/Annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met.
