Job description

The Center for Human Development (CHD) is looking for a Learning and Performance Specialist that is well-versed in learning management systems, training software applications and adult learning.ย ย This individual will work within our Learning and Development team and will report to the Director of Learning and Development. ย 

Responsibilities of the role include:ย ย 

  • Deliver instructor-led andย facilitatedย training (in-person and virtual) across assigned program areas.ย 
  • Apply adult learning principles and facilitationย ofย best practices to deliver engaging, learner-centered experiences.ย 
  • Assess learner needs and adapt delivery methods to support knowledge transfer and on-the-job performance.ย 
  • Support the development and delivery of training materials, including eLearning, job aids, and performance support tools.ย 
  • Partner with managers, supervisors, and subject matter experts (SMEs) toย identifyย training needs and address performance gaps.ย 
  • Support the design and development of learning solutions using established instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE).ย 
  • Translate complex or technical content into clear, accessible learning materials for diverse audiences.ย 
  • Foundational knowledge of instructional design models and adult learning principles.ย 
  • Demonstrated ability or strong potential toย facilitateย effective training for adult learners.ย 
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.ย 
  • Effective problem-solving and critical-thinking capabilities.ย 
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.ย 

Qualifications and requirements:ย 

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field (or equivalent experience).ย 
  • 1-3 years of experience in training, education, or related field (internship experience considered).ย 
  • Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and organizational skills.ย 
  • Demonstratedย proficiencyย with workplace technology and systems, including Microsoft 365 and Learning Management Systems (LMS).ย 
  • Experience working with or the ability to quickly learn enterprise systems such as Electronic Health Records (EHR)ย
