Primary Responsibilities
  • As a Design Coordinator at HDR you will work on projects in a variety of sectors with a focus on technology and data center projects. You'll be working closely with the multi-disciplinary design teams, clients, and contractors throughout the United States. In the role of Design Coordinator, we'll count on you to:
  • Design and process management in all phases of the architectural process
  • Concept Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction documentation.
  • Site and program analysis, evaluate project site and site specific environmental factors
  • Prepare architectural designs and construction documents, coordinate with consultant drawings and models.
  • Identify and review relevant code/zoning requirements
  • Building models using Revit or Rhino.
  • Communicate conflicts, issues and develop solutions with design team.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience working on the design and documentation of Data Centers, Industrial buildings, Medical, Healthcare or other projects with a high level of coordination between disciplines.
  • Demonstrated graphic presentation skills with knowledge of Blue Beam pdf editor
  • LEED Accreditation with experience and/or interest in sustainable design
  • Master's degree in architecture and 2 years of professional internship in architecture.
  • 3 years' experience of working on similar project typologies

Note: This Design Coordinator position can be aligned with either our Healthcare, Medical Planning or Mission Critical (Data Center) group. We welcome candidates with experience in either market, and the role is structured to support exceptional architectural talent across a range of backgrounds.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field
  • Must possess credentials to obtain future registration
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)
  • Desire to pursue growth opportunities and eventually obtain registration
  • Strong leadership, communication and relationship management skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in use of Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools and process
  • Demonstrated graphic presentation skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
