The opportunity

Job Summary:

The SNHU ITS organization is looking to hire students to work at the IT Help Desk located in Wolak Learning Commons. The IT Help Desk provides technology troubleshooting to the entire SNHU campus community. We are looking for students who enjoy working with the public, enjoy working with technology, and who have prior work experience in a customer service environment. We hire students of all majors for both work study and non-work study positions. Students who work for the IT Help Desk gain valuable real-world experience in both customer service and technological skills. Many of the students who have worked here in the past have gone on to have successful careers after graduation. The Wolak Learning Commons is open Monday - Thursday 8am to 6pm and Friday 8am to 430pm.

Essential duties and responsibilities of this position include the following:

  • Be the primary point of contact for walk-up support

  • Academic Response Team (ART) classroom support

  • Assist students with connecting devices to SNHU WiFi

  • Assist students with printing through our Print Management system

  • Assist with basic troubleshooting of student, classroom, and lab devices

  • Assist ITS personnel on support calls

  • Maintain Penmen Print machines around campus

  • Document issues to be reported in our ticketing management system

  • Assist with the Audio/Visual/Presentation Technology at Live Events and Conferences on Campus

  • Assist with Classroom Recordings for Academic Purposes

  • Assist with Livestreams and Recordings of Live Events and Conferences

  • All other duties as assigned

  • Student workers are required to work a minimum of 2 events

Required Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment in classes as part of a SNHU degree program
  • Work study part of financial aid package
  • Students with work study may be prioritized
  • General computing knowledge
  • Availability for evening and weekend shifts

Preferred Qualification:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Experience in Customer Service

  • Experience in Microsoft Office, Windows, Mac OSX and iOS

Compensation
