Job Description

Instructional Assistant –Learning Center

Frequent contact/follow-up for all students assigned to Learning Center

o -Check on student progress

o -Inquire about potential attendance concerns

o -Respond to questions regarding Canvas, attendance, high school deadlines, etc.

o -Monitor and oversee Credit Recovery Classes in Edmentum

o -Refer questions to assistant principal overseeing Learning Center

Develop a troubleshooting guide for your position as a study hall, learning center, or guided learning instructor. Document should include step-by-step instructions on how to fulfill all indicated job assignments on any given day.

o -Upon in-person-instruction, identify best practices implemented to facilitate classroom learning

o -Thoroughly explain attendance-taking procedures

o -Describe active classroom supervision methods

o -Determine how academic progress is measured and what action plans are implemented to achieve results

Frequent contact with each Department Chairs to identify teachers with students who may need encouragement regarding attendance, study habits, academic proficiency. Framework will be implemented via Google Sheet

Help students develop and maintain accountability by implementing a 2-3-week action plan to see results in academic performance

Assist High School’s Secretarial Staff with Clerical Work and Assigned Office Tasks

Actively Supervise and Monitor Progress During Daily Classes

Take Accurate Attendance Daily and Maintain Updated Class Rosters

Effectively Communicate with Classroom Teachers as Needed Regarding Student Passes or Assignments

Collaborate With Supervisor Regarding Class-Related Needs, Concerns, Progress

Any other duties as assigned by supervisor


Qualifications:


48 college credits or have passed the Praxis exam
