Job description

Position Summary

The Resource Development Officer develops, implements, and manages fundraising strategies for assigned corporate partners and individual donors. This position is responsible for strengthening existing relationships, identifying opportunities for growth, cultivating new resources and supporting United Way of Forsyth County's annual and long-term fundraising goals through meaningful donor engagement and stewardship. The Resource Development Officer works onsite and evening and weekend work is required, particularly around events.

Position Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements year-round relationship plans for assigned corporate partners and individual donors to maximize engagement, retention, and fundraising growth.
  • Develops and adapts fundraising strategies to strengthen engagement and improve results for assigned corporate partners.
  • Identifies, cultivates, and develops new corporate and individual fundraising opportunities.
  • Maintains a high level of personal engagement with assigned donors and prospects through regular communication, meetings, stewardship, and relationship building.
  • Partners with volunteers to strengthen relationships with corporate leadership and expand fundraising opportunities within assigned accounts.
  • Develop and implement ongoing engagement and stewardship plans for assigned individual donors.
  • Cultivates major gift and planned giving prospects through intentional relationship management and donor engagement.
  • Develops and implements annual fundraising plans for assigned corporate and individual accounts.
  • Maintains accurate donor and campaign records while ensuring the confidentiality of donor and financial information.
  • Collaborate with the Resource Development team to implement year-round fundraising and donor engagement strategies.
  • Participates in ongoing professional development to strengthen fundraising knowledge, skills, and performance.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of United Way Forsyth County's mission, strategic priorities, and community impact to effectively represent the organization.
  • Identifies opportunities to increase support within existing accounts and cultivate new corporate and individual giving opportunities.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to support additional departmental and organizational initiatives to ensure the success of the Research Development team.
  • Participates in occasional local travel, and evening or weekend events as needed to support fundraising, donor engagement and communities activities.
