Job description

About the Team:
The People Development & Experience team is responsible for how Zoox grows and engages its people as we scale. Our scope spans learning & development, performance, engagement, and belonging, and we approach all of it with a focus on enabling real, lasting capability across the organization.
About the Role:
We're looking for a Senior L&D professional to help Zoox build a more scalable, sustainable approach to learning and capability development. This role is for someone who is energized by enabling others; equipping People Partners, managers, and teams with the tools and frameworks they need to develop capability across the organization. You'll bring both a strategic point of view and the hands-on follow-through to turn that thinking into tangible, reusable work. You will partner closely with leaders and People Partners to translate business needs into practical, engaging learning experiences that strengthen leadership capability and overall performance.
In this role, you will...
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to People Partners and people leaders on learning and capability development, helping them diagnose needs, apply L&D principles, and build capability in their teams.
  • Design scalable tools, playbooks, learning pathways, and frameworks that build lasting capability.
  • Consult on capability building needs across the organization, effectively diagnosing the need and underlying skill gaps, aligning solutions with organizational priorities, and right-sizing the response for sustainability at scale.
  • Design and facilitate structured development programs, including core skills and career growth experiences, ensuring they connect to performance and career development processes.
  • Partner with the L&D Manager and broader PDE team to ensure learning approaches are coherent and connected.
  • Evaluate and manage external learning vendors when needed.

Qualfications
  • 6+ years of experience in L&D, organizational development, or a related field, with a track record of balancing strategy and execution.
  • Strong consulting and advisory skills. You can effectively diagnose capability needs, recommend right-sized solutions, and influence without direct authority.
  • Experience building scalable learning infrastructure (playbooks, toolkits, frameworks) that enable others to deliver.
  • Strong project management and business acumen. You can manage multiple workstreams, hold vendors accountable, and connect learning investments to business outcomes.
  • The experience and confidence to manage expectations, push back on requests that aren't high priority, and recommend lighter-touch solutions when needed.
  • A genuinely collaborative approach. You share credit, invite input, and find satisfaction in enabling others.

Bonus Qualifications
  • Familiarity with connecting individual development to organizational readiness.
  • Experience making learning relevant and accessible for a workforce under constant demand.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and evolving scope; this role will grow and change as the function evolves.
