Job description

CTE Planning and Implementation Coordinator

Starting Date:
 August 1, 2026 (or as soon as filled)

Employment Status:
 This position may be filled as a full-time administrative assignment, a Teacher on Special Assignment (TSA), a part-time assignment, or another staffing model that best meets the needs of the district after interviewing the selected candidates.

Contract and Salary:
 Contract length and compensation will be based on the selected candidate's assignment and district salary schedules. $63,922 - $155,969

Position Summary

The CTE Planning and Implementation Coordinator will lead and coordinate the planning, development, and implementation of Career and Technical Education (CTE) initiatives outlined in the Aspen Peaks School District APEX Planning Grant. This position will work collaboratively with district leadership, educators, business and industry partners, postsecondary institutions, and the Utah State Board of Education (USBE) to coordinate the successful transition of Career and Technical Education programs, systems, partnerships, and services as Aspen Peaks School District is established.

The coordinator will ensure grant objectives are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all applicable state and federal grant requirements while coordinating the planning, alignment, and implementation of sustainable systems that build upon the strong foundation of existing CTE programs and support the successful launch of the new district.

Essential Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Project Management

  • Develop and manage project timelines, action plans, and implementation schedules.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure milestones are achieved on time.
  • Facilitate planning meetings with district leadership, school administrators, CTE stakeholders, and grant partners.
  • Prepare reports, recommendations, and presentations for district leadership and grant partners.

Career and Technical Education Systems Development

  • Coordinate the planning and alignment of district-wide CTE systems, procedures, and operational frameworks.
  • Help develop processes that support the successful transition and continued delivery of high-quality CTE programs.
  • Assist in the development and expansion of career pathways aligned with regional workforce needs.
  • Coordinate planning for Work-Based Learning (WBL), concurrent enrollment, industry certifications, and credential attainment.
  • Develop sustainable systems that transition into permanent district operations following completion of the grant.

Business and Industry Partnerships

  • Maintain and strengthen partnerships with business, industry, community organizations, and postsecondary institutions.
  • Coordinate CTE advisory committees representing key industry sectors.
  • Collaborate with employers to expand internships, apprenticeships, job shadows, and other Work-Based Learning opportunities.
  • Strengthen relationships with workforce agencies and economic development organizations that support student success.

Grant Management and Collaboration

  • Monitor grant activities to ensure compliance with APEX Planning Grant requirements.
  • Maintain documentation demonstrating progress toward grant objectives.
  • Collect and analyze data to measure project outcomes and effectiveness.
  • Assist with budget planning and responsible stewardship of grant funds.
  • Serve as a liaison among Aspen Peaks School District, USBE, Mountainland Region Consortium, neighboring school districts, and community partners.
  • Coordinate planning efforts across curriculum, counseling, finance, facilities, communications, and technology departments to ensure alignment of CTE initiatives.

Professional Learning and Communication

  • Coordinate professional learning opportunities and onboarding resources for educators and administrators.
  • Develop communication materials and resources for educators, students, families, and community stakeholders.
  • Represent Aspen Peaks School District at local, regional, and state meetings related to Career and Technical Education.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that support successful implementation of the APEX Planning Grant.

Qualifications

Credentials, Education, and Experience

  1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required; Master's degree preferred.
  2. Utah Educator License or equivalent experience in Career and Technical Education, educational leadership, workforce development, or a related field.
  3. Experience in Career and Technical Education, educational administration, workforce development, or a related field preferred.
  4. Demonstrated experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  5. Knowledge of Utah Career and Technical Education programs, funding, career pathways, Work-Based Learning, and Perkins funding preferred.
  6. Experience building partnerships with business, industry, postsecondary institutions, and community organizations.
  7. Strong organizational, communication, project management, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  8. Demonstrated ability to analyze data, manage budgets, facilitate collaborative decision-making, and adapt to changing priorities.
