Job Description

Reporting to the Manager, Learning & Talent Development, the Senior Learning & Talent Development Specialist plays a critical role in supporting employee growth, building leadership capability, and maximizing organizational effectiveness. Working collaboratively with business leaders, HR partners, and subject-matter experts, this role actively identifies development needs and translates them into practical, engaging learning solutions aligned with strategic business priorities.

The Senior Learning & Talent Development Specialist manages a broad portfolio of programs, including onboarding, leadership and soft-skills development, learning technology, recent graduate programs, career pathing, and role-specific training. This role combines talent management, facilitation, program management and design, stakeholder partnership, and data analysis to deliver accessible and impactful learning experiences across a geographically dispersed workforce.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage the design or sourcing of end-to-end learning solutions and training content in alignment with stakeholder or company needs. This may include in-person training, e-learning, videos, PowerPoint presentations, job aids, facilitator guides, and other forms of digital content.
  • Facilitate various workshops and internal development programs, including those intended for individual contributors and managers; both virtually and in-person.
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand development needs and sources or designs relevant content to address gaps.
  • Collaborate with leadership to conduct succession planning reviews and build relevant employee development plans.
  • Evaluate learning initiatives through participant feedback, learning analytics, and stakeholder input, making recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Manage the launch of Company Engagement Surveys and partner with stakeholders to deliver results, develop action plans, lead steering committees, and facilitate conversations with leaders.
  • Manage the execution of all L&D programs, including organizing necessary materials, managing facility support, coordinating participant travel, and planning evening activities.
  • Partner with various functions (corporate and operations) to build job-specific training plans and career paths.
  • Support the ongoing development of the company's onboarding program, including recommending enhancements and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Perform cross-functional activities and/or other duties, as required.

  • Strong facilitation and communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Strong project management and prioritization skills with the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously to meet timelines.
  • Considerable experience in designing, developing, sourcing, and/or delivering a variety of training courses and programs to diverse audiences (individual contributors, leaders, new grads).
  • Experience in succession planning, building development plans and career paths, and providing employee development support
  • Experience with coaching, consulting, and facilitation.
  • Strong background in change management and building change management plans.
  • Confidence in working with new technology and learning new software.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Learning & Development or Organizational Development.
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, Adult Education, or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), and E-Learning Authoring Tools (Articulate 360).
  • Training certifications are an asset (CTDP, CTP).
  • Coaching certification is an asset.
  • Travel is required (15-20%)
  • Ability to speak French is an asset
