Job description

The Back of House Shift Manager is responsible to run the kitchen area of the restaurant, treating it like it is his/her own, with a focus on stewardship and daily improvement for himself/herself as well as the team. The BOH Shift Manager may be responsible for opening, closing, or working any shifts between such but is ultimately the driver of the shift to ensure the best possible guest experience. A Shift leader coaches, encourages, holds accountabilities, communicates goals and performance in regards to such goals, and helps breed a culture of positivity and high-performance. Scheduled shifts are between the hours of 5am-4pm or 2pm-close Monday-Saturday. Must be 18+. Wage will be adjusted for limited availability.

Shift Managers have responsibilities for the restaurant's operations, including but not limited to: opening/closing the restaurant, specific continuous improvement projects within the heart of house, overseeing team members' performance and holding the team accountable for results, identifying where "bottlenecks" exist and reassigning team members to increase flow and heighten the guest experience, etc..

Shift Manager Responsibilities:

  • Lead with an attitude of integrity, humility, and service, one of empowering others and working for the best interest of the team members and guests.
  • Be a leader and driver of Chick-fil-A's Business Vision and Strategy
  • Evaluate the safety and quality of products produced throughout each shift, record all results, and make adjustments to ensure all food and beverages meet Chick-fil-A's standards including food taste, temperature, and portion size.
  • Execute Ecosure and Health department standards for serving safe food, and coach the team into knowledge of 3rd party evaluations.
  • Oversee and coach the team to complete AHA and lean chicken processes correctly.
  • Own responsibility for food waste: Track wasted product, investigate areas of opportunity to improve, and implement procedures to decrease overall food waste. Coach the team into knowledge of food waste impact on the business.
