Reporting to the Area Manager and performs instrumentation installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. Ensures work is completed safely, accurately, and according to company and industry standards.
What You Will Do
Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Install and assemble instrumentation components and systems on oil and gas compressor packages.
  • Install instrument tubing, fittings, valves, manifolds, gauges, transmitters, and related instrumentation equipment.
  • Read and interpret P&IDs, instrument drawings, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, and installation drawings.
  • Perform tubing installation, bending, cutting, deburring, and fitting of stainless-steel and other instrument tubing.
  • Install and connect pressure, temperature, level, flow, and other process instrumentation.
  • Install instrument air tubing and pneumatic components.
  • Perform tubing and connection checks to ensure proper routing, support, and leak-free installations.
  • Assist with instrument calibration, testing, and loop checks.
  • Work with Controls, Electrical, Mechanical, and Engineering teams to troubleshoot instrumentation issues.
  • Identify and correct installation issues, leaks, damaged components, and improper tubing or fittings.
  • Verify instruments and components are installed according to drawings, specifications, and manufacturer requirements.
  • Assist with compressor package commissioning, startup, and functional testing.
  • Perform pressure and leak testing of instrument tubing and connections as required.
  • Maintain proper labeling and identification of instruments, tubing, valves, and components.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work completed and testing performed.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout and required PPE.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Assist Senior Instrumentation Fitters with more complex installations and troubleshooting.

Education, Skills and Experience
Your education and experience include:
  • 3-5 years of instrumentation fitting or industrial instrumentation experience preferred.
  • Experience in oil and gas, compressor packages, manufacturing, or industrial environments preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, instrument drawings, loop diagrams, and installation drawings.
  • Experience installing and working with stainless-steel instrument tubing and compression fittings.
  • Knowledge of pressure, temperature, flow, level, and pneumatic instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with instrument manifolds, valves, regulators, gauges, and transmitters.
  • Basic understanding of instrumentation calibration and loop-check procedures.
  • Ability to use hand tools, tubing tools, measuring equipment, and testing equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong safety awareness and ability to follow established procedures.

Physical Strain

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in various positions for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry tools, tubing, fittings, and instrumentation components.
  • Ability to work around machinery and compressor equipment.
  • Ability to work in a shop or industrial environment.
  • Ability to wear required PPE and follow all safety requirements.
