GENERAL FUNCTION:

Applies technical skills and expertise to business and/or technical projects of a low to moderate level of complexity. The incumbent will be a member of an agile team and will be actively involved implementing new features and enabling capabilities using modern software engineering tools. The incumbent will rotate every six months to a new team and assignment which could include other roles besides software engineering (i.e. Product Owner, Scrum Master, Quality Control).

Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

ESSENTIAL DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Will rotate through four six month assignments over a two-year period within the Technology department.
  • Rotations will comprise of at least two roles as a software engineer. The other two assignments will include other roles within technology (i.e. Product Owner, Scrum Master) and will be determined based on career interest and consulting with leaders
  • Plays a key role as an individual contributor on projects or agile teams.
  • Completes work assignments in conjunction with more senior staff members.
  • Participates in other learning sessions within the Technology and with other leadership programs to learn about the bank, leadership, strategies and community involvement.
  • Works to increase knowledge of the industry and the applications processed by Fifth Third Bank through all available channels.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • 4-year degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
  • Prefer candidates that have relevant internship and/ or co-op program experience
  • Experience with software development and/or programming
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationship
