How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. Join our dynamic Marketing team as a 2026 fall intern, where you'll contribute to projects that directly support commercial growth, customer engagement and operational efficiency. This internship is ideal for students pursuing degrees in Marketing, Business, Communications or a related field who are eager to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing and engineered products environment. 

  • Support digital marketing initiatives, including website updates, email marketing, marketing automation and campaign execution.
  • Assist with content creation and management across web, social media and marketing communication channels.
  • Help maintain marketing systems and data quality, including HubSpot CRM and other marketing technologies.
  • Support webinar, event and lead nurture campaigns while tracking engagement and campaign performance.
  • Conduct market, competitor and audience reserch to support marketing strategy and business initiatives.
  • Explore emerging AI and marketing technologies to improve marketing efficiency, content creation and business processes.
  • Collaborate with marketing team members on cross-functional projects and other initiatives as business priorities evolve.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities of varying complexity

Ideal Experience & Skills

  • Familiarity with webinar, email and digital marketing platforms, and ability to learn other relative platforms as needed

Education & Certifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or related field
  • Cumulative college GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • High school diploma or GED required

 

Travel & Working Environment

  • Hybrid schedule
  • The position may require working occasionally outside normal work hours. 
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Keyboarding/typing.
  • Ability to read effectively from a computer screen and/or a paper copy.
  • Ability to handle a large volume of work and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally.

Our intern and co-op positions are paid, and we offer housing stipends for students who are not local to the Kansas City area.
