Job description

Job Summary

Manages the sales duties within an assigned region of an organization.

Job Duties

  • Establish individual sales quotas and track performance against expectations
  • Develop and implement specialized or targeted sales strategies
  • Provide competitive assessments, product or sales training or pricing and contracting assistance to the sales team
  • Assist marketing, advertising or related departments in promoting the organization's products or services
  • May oversee lead generation and/or qualification
  • Create required transmission sales tools
  • Coordinate with and coach utility reps and RSMs to schedule transmission technical presentations for electric utilities, engineering firms, and contractors.
  • Coordinate with sales team to follow up on opportunities and coordinate their updating of Salesforce status.
  • Maintain a rolling 2-year schedule for presentations by strategizing to prioritize customers with stakeholders
  • Travel significantly to give presentations, provide support for other technical presenters, and attend trade shows, conferences, and other social events
  • Strategize with sales, pricing, and plants on quotation strategies
  • Provide monthly product training for office staff
  • Travel with customers to plants as needed
  • Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately
  • Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
  • Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Experience and Education

  • Four-year engineering degree and four years’ experience in technical field
  • Comprehensive knowledge of transmission insulator/hardware concepts and principles
  • Previous electric utility experience a plus
  • Perform complex tasks typically following established processes
  • Experienced in technical presentations and customer interactions
  • Primarily focused on administering established policies and procedures; may have some impact on departmental budgeting, strategic planning and procedural change
