Bayhealth Medical Center is Central and Southern Delaware's healthcare leader with hospitals in Dover and Milford, as well as stand-alone Emergency Department in Smyrna and a hybrid Emergency Department and Urgent Care in Milton. We offer various practice settings throughout Kent and Sussex Counties. Bayhealth Medical Center Kent Campus is 90 minutes from Philadelphia, Washington, DC and Baltimore. Our Sussex Campus is 30 minutes to the Delaware beaches and relaxation in the sand!

Location: Kent Campus Hospital
Status: Full Time 80 Hours
Shift: Day/ Evening 9am-6pm
SALARY RANGE: 16.57 - 24.86HOURLY
General Summary:
Assists in planning and performing a wide variety of activities related to the care and development of children - age 8 weeks to 5 years.
Responsibilities:
1. Provides and maintains safe, healthy, and organized classrooms throughout the Center.
2. Maintains the care and well-being of the children throughout the Center.
3. Assists classroom teacher in planning and conducting age-appropriate activities for children.
4. Assist with monitoring tracking of children's developmental assessment goals and objectives.
5. Proactively assists with other assignments, as needed.
6. Gives special attention and caring toward Center children and meeting child care needs.
7. Promotes children's wellness by following Center Sick Guidelines and Standard Precautions.
8. All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities
Required Education, Credential(s) and Experience:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED; Also requires:
  • Successful completion and certificate of Training in Early Care and Education, (TECE 1 and TECE 2) ~ OR ~
  • Successful completion of a Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) ~ OR ~
  • Successful completion of a traditional high school career pathway program in early childhood education accepted by DOE.
  • Credential(s): Delaware Educator Data System Certification
    Heart saver - Within 60 days, if not already obtained.
  • Experience: Required: Six months' experience working with preschool age or younger children in a group setting.

Preferred Education, Credential(s) and Experience:
  • Education: Associate Degree
    Early Childhood Education
    Or Associate's Degree in child development.
  • Credential(s):
  • Experience: Preferred: At least one year working with young children in a Child Care Center or school setting
