Summary:
Newell Brands is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Video Editor to join our Studio Creative team. This role supports a diverse portfolio of iconic consumer goods brands, including Marmot, Coleman, Graco, Baby Jogger, Crock-Pot, Calphalon, Rubbermaid, Sharpie, Elmer's, Yankee Candle, and more.
The Senior Video Editor is responsible for leading the post-production process of all video content, ensuring high-quality and impactful visuals that align with the brand's creative vision. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver compelling video narratives across multiple channels, optimizing video performance and overseeing the editing team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of storytelling, technical editing skills, and a passion for pushing creative boundaries.
Responsibilities:
  1. Video Editing & Post-Production:
    • Lead the editing process from rough cut to final delivery, ensuring content is visually engaging, aligned with the creative brief, and meets brand standards.
    • Manage color grading, sound mixing, and motion graphics to enhance video quality and effectiveness.
    • Handle various video formats and editing workflows, ensuring timely completion of projects.
  2. Creative Collaboration:
    • Work closely with the Studio creative, design, and brand teams to develop video concepts and ensure that video content supports broader brand initiatives.
    • Provide creative input throughout the production process, contributing to the storyboard, scripting, and visual design stages.
    • Collaborate with leadership, studio, and other post-production staff to maintain consistent creative vision.
  3. Team Leadership & Mentorship:
    • Lead and mentor junior video editors, providing constructive feedback and fostering a collaborative environment.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, sharing new ideas and techniques with the team to continually elevate video output.
    • Oversee and manage your workload of the video editing, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality output.
  4. Project Management:
    • Manage multiple video projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and client expectations are met.
    • Collaborate with Studio Coordinators to allocate resources, timelines, and prioritize deliverables effectively.
    • Communicate clearly with stakeholders regarding project progress, revisions, and final approvals.
  5. Technical Proficiency:
    • Maintain proficiency with industry-standard video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, Illustrator, Cinema 4D(or comparable), Auditions or Pro Tools, etc.).
    • Keep current with post-production technologies and integrate new tools to streamline workflows and enhance the team's capabilities.
    • Ensure all video content is optimized for various platforms, including web, social media, and broadcast.
  6. Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure all video content is reviewed and edited to maintain brand consistency and technical quality.
    • Conduct final reviews to ensure videos meet creative, technical, and legal standards before delivery.
    • Troubleshoot technical issues during post-production and ensure timely resolution.

Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Film, Media Production, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in video editing and post-production in a professional setting.
  • Expertise in video editing software (Adobe Premiere, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, Cinema 4D (or comparable), Auditions or Pro Tools, etc.).
  • Proven experience in mentoring creative post-production teams and managing video projects from concept to delivery.
  • Strong visual storytelling skills with a portfolio demonstrating creative vision and execution across a range of projects.
  • Experience in color grading, motion graphics, and sound design is highly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in consumer goods, advertising, or entertainment industries is a plus.
