The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

The Lead Echocardiography Technologist provides leadership and technical expertise within the echocardiography department while performing advanced cardiac ultrasound procedures. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, maintaining departmental workflow, supervising staff, supporting accreditation standards, and collaborating with physicians and management to achieve clinical excellence.

Required:

Certifications:

  • Associate degree or accredited program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Echocardiography
  • Current RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) through ARDMS and/or RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer) through CCI
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum of 3 5 years of echocardiography experience
  • Advanced knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology
  • Expertise in echocardiographic imaging techniques and equipment
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize workflow and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and quality improvement
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and reporting systems

Preferred:

  • Previous lead, supervisory, or mentoring experience preferred

Scheduling Requirements

  • Full Time

Essential Functions:

  • Perform and interpret high-quality transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE), stress echocardiograms, and transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) support procedures
  • Ensure accurate acquisition of diagnostic cardiac ultrasound images according to departmental protocols
  • Supervise daily operations of the echocardiography laboratory
  • Coordinate staff schedules, workload distribution, and patient flow
  • Works with Director to provide training, mentoring, and competency assessments for echocardiography staff and students
  • Assists Director and Manager with employee orientation, performance evaluations, and ongoing education
  • Assist Manager in Monitoring quality assurance initiatives and the maintenance of IAC accreditation requirements
  • Completes IAC accreditation surveys every 3 years
  • Collaborate with cardiologists and healthcare providers to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate preventive maintenance
  • Assists Director and Manager in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, safety policies, and infection-control procedures
  • Participates in departmental projects, process improvement initiatives, and leadership meetings
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in electronic medical record systems
