Sr. SQL Database Administrator | About You
As a Sr. SQL Database Administrator, you are responsible for the stability, performance, and security of mission-critical SQL Server platforms. This role is well-suited for someone with deep, hands-on experience supporting complex production environments, including high availability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization at scale. Success in this position requires comfort operating independently, making sound technical decisions, and collaborating closely with application, infrastructure, and security teams. A proactive mindset, strong troubleshooting skills, and a focus on automation and documentation are essential. You take pride in building resilient, well-governed database systems that meet both operational and security standards.
Sr. SQL Database Administrator | Day-to-Day
  • Own the administration and operational health of Microsoft SQL Server environments across development, test, and production.
  • Manage backup, restore, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions, including Always On Availability Groups.
  • Investigate and resolve complex performance issues such as blocking, deadlocks, failed jobs, and resource contention.
  • Collaborate with application teams to tune queries, indexes, statistics, and execution plans for optimal performance.
  • Implement and maintain database security, user access, and privileged access workflows, including privileged access management (PAM) solutions and BeyondTrust.
  • Automate routine DBA tasks, support upgrades and migrations, and maintain clear operational documentation and recovery runbooks.
