Job description

Job Title: Lead Network Architect

Overview / Summary

Lead the design, support, and operational reliability of critical network infrastructure in a hands-on leadership role that combines network architecture, network security, telecom, vendor coordination, and infrastructure operations. This role provides L4 network expertise while remaining actively involved in a 24x7 critical operations environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide L4 hands-on network architecture and advanced network troubleshooting.

  • Lead the design and improvement of scalable data center and enterprise network infrastructure.

  • Support LAN/WAN, routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, load balancers, proxy servers, and telecom dependencies.

  • Provide L3 support for network security and telecom-related escalations.

  • Evaluate network performance, availability, risk, and optimization opportunities.

  • Lead root cause analysis for complex network and infrastructure incidents.

  • Coordinate with vendors for WAN/LAN, cabling, telecom, firewall, data center, and infrastructure services.

  • Create and maintain network diagrams, architecture documentation, configurations, and standards.

  • Provide technical guidance to other infrastructure engineers.

  • Support security awareness and secure infrastructure practices.

  • Participate in critical incident response and on-call escalation.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of network engineering, infrastructure architecture, or senior infrastructure support experience.

  • L4-level network architecture and hands-on troubleshooting capability.

  • Strong experience with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, routing, and switching.

  • Strong experience with routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, proxy servers, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and access controls.

  • Strong understanding of data center network design, high availability, and performance.

  • Experience leading complex network incidents and root cause analysis.

  • Experience creating network diagrams, standards, procedures, and technical recommendations.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to prepare reports or presentations for management.
