What is lead generation?

Lead generation is the process of identifying and attracting potential customers (leads) for a business’s products or services. This is typically achieved through marketing tactics such as online advertising, content marketing, email campaigns, and social media outreach. The goal is to gather contact information from prospects who are interested in what a company offers, nurturing them through the sales funnel until they become paying customers. Lead generation is crucial for business growth as it helps maintain a steady pipeline of new clients.

What are some common challenges faced in a lead generation role, and how can candidates prepare to overcome them?

One of the main challenges in lead generation is consistently identifying and engaging high-quality prospects amidst a large volume of potential leads. Candidates may also encounter gatekeepers or resistance from prospects, requiring persistence and strong communication skills. Staying up-to-date with the latest tools and trends, as well as collaborating closely with sales and marketing teams, can help overcome these obstacles. Being proactive in adjusting strategies based on data analysis and feedback is key to long-term success in this role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a lead generation specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Lead Generation Specialist, you need strong research abilities, proficiency in sales or marketing fundamentals, and experience with CRM software, typically supported by a relevant degree or certification. Familiarity with tools like Salesforce, HubSpot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and email marketing platforms is commonly required. Outstanding communication, persistence, and analytical thinking are vital soft skills for engaging prospects and refining outreach strategies. These skills and tools are essential for consistently identifying, qualifying, and nurturing leads to drive business growth.

Lead Creator, Brand Social

Ladder Technologies, Inc

Austin, TX • On-site

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO

Re-posted 2 days ago

Job description

Ladder is hiring the face and voice of brand social for the world's best fitness app. Not a spokesperson reading someone else's script - a creator with a real point of view, a body of work that speaks for itself, and the aura to hold an audience's attention.
You will be the personality our audience looks to for series education, product updates and a behind-the-scenes glimpse of day-to-day life at Ladder. The work is to make training on Ladder genuinely compelling, as well as be a spokeperson for new series, product updates and newly-released features. You'll concept it, shoot it, edit it, and publish it, sometimes in the same day. You'll also be on set with coaches, helping them with their content, sharing the screen in the BTS, interviewing and talking with them too. Think TV-host for the Gen-Z social generation.
Most creators are building their own brand. This role is not that. Your creative output is focused on Ladder - our channels, our audience, our coaches and our celebrity partners. You'll have resources and reach that independent creators rarely get access to, and a team invested in making your work better. In return, we need your full focus. If you're looking for a role that supports a personal channel or leaves room for other brand partnerships, this isn't the right fit.
Report to: VP, Brand & Creative
What You'll Do:
  • Serve as the recurring on-camera face of Ladder across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube
  • Own content end to end - concept, shoot, edit, publish - at the pace the platforms require
  • Build and star in repeatable series that give an audience a reason to return, rather than one-off posts that disappear
  • Translate real fitness expertise into content that holds attention: make progressive overload, program design, and training psychology land with people who have never encountered those ideas
  • Create alongside our coaches and celebrity partners, and draw the best possible performance out of them on camera
  • Read performance data closely and let it shape what you make next
  • Partner with our Senior Manager, Brand Social and the wider creative team on the direction of the channel

Requirements
  • Located in Austin, TX
  • A real body of work - an audience you built yourself, with content you personally appeared in, wrote, shot, and edited
  • On-camera presence that reads as a person, not a presenter. Articulate, genuinely funny, and comfortable carrying a piece on your own
  • Expert-level iPhone production and CapCut editing. You can take an idea to a finished cut without a crew or a post house
  • Deep, hands-on fitness knowledge with genuine strength training experience - you can speak credibly about programming because you have actually done it
  • A sharp instinct for cultural trends and for how formats differ across platforms
  • Willingness to be Ladder's creator exclusively. This is a full-time commitment to our brand, not a salary layered beneath a personal brand or competing partnerships
  • A collaborative, no-ego approach to feedback and iteration

Why Ladder
We're building the world's best fitness business. We are a small team of no-ego experts that think in first-principles. We don't follow the lead of our competitors, we lead the industry with our innovation, and you'll be a major part of shaping that innovation to keep Ladder at the forefront of fitness and culture!
Our creative team is insanely talented, producing the best creative in fitness, all while doing bits and having fun. We are the hardest working and most fun team in the industry.
If you're an A+ player that brings your absolute best, that thrives taking big swings and executing at a high-level, this is the place for you. This is not a role where you will be micromanaged - we expect you to be the best and have the freedom and resources to be creative and make great work!
