Position Summary
Findlay Tall Timbers Distribution Center is seeking an experienced Lead Forklift Operator to join our warehouse operations team. In this leadership role, you will provide oversight, guidance, and training to forklift operators while ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient loading and unloading of customer shipments.
The ideal candidate is a skilled forklift operator with strong leadership abilities, inventory management experience, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence. This position works closely with Facility Management and Supervisors to ensure all inbound and outbound shipments meet company, customer, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
  • Operate forklift equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Load and unload trailers according to customer specifications.
  • Stack, store, and organize inventory in designated warehouse locations.
  • Pick mixed pallets accurately and efficiently.
  • Utilize RF scanners and warehouse scanning processes.
  • Prepare pallets for shipment, including wrapping, banding, and labeling as needed.
  • Perform occasional case picking and manual material handling.
  • Conduct routine forklift inspections and ensure equipment is properly maintained.
  • Audit receiving and shipping paperwork to verify inventory accuracy.
Leadership & Team Support
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and support to Tier 1 Forklift Operators.
  • Train and mentor team members to promote skill development and progression.
  • Assist the Senior Supervisor with workflow planning and task delegation.
  • Monitor team performance and help maintain productivity standards.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate daily operations.
Inventory & Compliance
  • Maintain proficiency in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Support inventory control processes and maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Assist with cycle counts and inventory audits.
  • Ensure all operations comply with company policies, customer requirements, and safety regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of forklift operating experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience using RF scanners and warehouse technology.
  • Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic math and counting abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and lead others.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to multitask and effectively manage changing priorities.
  • Ability to remain calm and productive in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods when required.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Occasional climbing, crouching, kneeling, and bending.
