Job description

About the Team

The Enterprise Data Architecture & Platform team, part of T. Rowe Price's CDO organization, is responsible for setting enterprise-wide data standards and building scalable solutions to be leveraged across the firm. Working in partnership with Enterprise Architecture, this team defines and manages robust data architectures to ensure consistency, scalability, control, and compliance in data management. The organization also oversees key enterprise capabilities, including vendor solutions, acting as product owners.

Role Summary

As a Lead Enterprise Data Architect, you will own the coordination, documentation, and governance of enterprise data architectures. You will bring a deep understanding of modern cloud data solutions and demonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders. This role involves documenting target state architectures, principles, and frameworks, as well as supporting training efforts for engineers across the enterprise. You may also be responsible for governing core platforms and tools. We seek an energetic, creative architect who enjoys designing and implementing scalable capabilities.


Qualifications

Required:

  • BS/MS degree (or equivalent) in a technical field and 8+ years' experience in data-intensive roles.
  • Proven experience leading the design and architecture of secure, scalable data solutions on AWS, meeting critical non-functional requirements.
  • Strong technical leadership, with the ability to define and promote architectural patterns and best practices across engineering teams.
  • Passion for hands-on engineering-comfortable both whiteboarding architecture and prototyping in code.
  • Deep, hands-on expertise with modern data stack technologies including AWS, Snowflake, Dagster, dbt, and Spark.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills; able to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred:

  • Understanding of the asset management business and/or financial markets.

FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.

Work Flexibility

This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to three days per week from home.
