Job Title

Lead Driver

Qualifications

1. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required

2. Training and Experience:

  • Experience in durable medical equipment rental preferred but not required.
  • Clean driving record
  • Valid AR Driver's License
  • Ability to lift 80 -100 lbs safely
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance and repair on all DME equipment according manufacturer's specifications.

3. Job Knowledge: Basic knowledge of DME business and equipment

4. Safety Sensitive: YES

In the interest of protecting the health and safety of all patients, associates, and guests, Unity Health has classified some positions as "safety sensitive." A "safety sensitive" position is any job position in which impaired performance could result in harm to the health and/or safety of self or others. Any associate that is actively engaged in the use of medical marijuana, even if in possession of a valid medical marijuana card, will be excluded from employment in a "safety sensitive" position.

Description

The Lead Driver uses sales, service and educational skills to ensure safe delivery, set up and use of equipment and maintains the quality provider image for the organization in the community. The Lead Driver will deliver, set up, pick up and maintain and service all Home Care Equipment as well as do monthly rounds on patients. The Lead Driver will also need to fill out and maintain paperwork on all patients and equipment. They will be required to take after hours call and have the ability to respond to phone calls within 30 minutes and make emergency deliveries within 2 hours of receiving the call. The Lead Driver will also make rounds to the hospital for supplies, mail, and perform other duties as required.

Additional Duties for the Lead Driver will be to coordinate scheduling for each day with other drivers and make assignments as needed including staffing for call ins. The Lead Driver will work out and maintain the on call schedule with all of the drivers. The Lead Driver will be responsible for ensuring that all drivers are completing education that is required. The Lead Driver will be responsible for training and assist in hiring any new Driver/Technician. The Lead Driver will carry a full delivery load and assist when needed with special deliveries. The Lead Driver will be responsible for maintaining inventory for WCMC DME. The Lead Driver will be required to perform equipment cleaning and maintenance and other duties as assigned by the DME Director.
