Job description

Position Summary:
A Clinical Data Abstractor performs clinical auditing and data abstraction of patient records in support of the organizations clinical quality improvement and patient safety initiatives associated with various quality improvement data reporting systems.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities as Assigned:
  1. Participates in relevant training at assigned sites and through training, develops expertise.
  2. Reviews medical records to abstract relevant data for eligible patients utilizing both electronic upload and manual data abstraction of records. Assures electronic data are verified for accuracy and assures data entry of manually abstracted data into collaborative / registry.
  3. Collaborates with assigned sites to review non-concordant cases and identifies and presents findings to other key stakeholders.
  4. Utilizes clinical expertise to examine the electronic medical records of cases to identify patients eligible for inclusion in the collaborative / registry.
  5. Responsible for the accurate and timely entry of data into program database portals and meets the caseload accrual requirement protocol.
  6. Actively participates in audits of data entered the collaborative / registry

Qualifications:
Required:
β€’ Associate's degree in nursing, healthcare administration, informatics, or related field with two years of experience in clinical data analysis or a similar role
OR
β€’ Bachelor's degree in nursing, healthcare administration, informatics, or related field
Preferred:
β€’ Experience in a clinical setting.
β€’ Clinical chart review and abstraction experience.
β€’ Database data entry and/or management experience.
