Position Summary
The change analyst supports the success of university initiatives by assessing, analyzing, and helping manage the impact of organizational change. This role partners with stakeholders across academic and administrative units to conduct impact assessments, design tailored communication and engagement strategies, track readiness, and provide data-driven insights that minimize disruption and enable adoption. By working closely with change managers, business analysts, and project managers, the change analyst ensures that cultural, technological, and process changes are clearly understood, effectively communicated, and successfully implemented. The level of the position (I, II, III, or Senior) reflects the scope of work, years of experience required, and level of autonomy in performing tasks.
Required Qualifications
Change Analyst I:
High school diploma or GED.
One year of work experience in change management, organizational change management (OCM), or a relevant field.
Demonstrated experience in project management and familiarity with project management methodologies.
Demonstrated experience with stakeholder engagement and relationship building.
Certification in Change Management (e.g. Prosci or CCMP).
Knowledge of change management methodologies (e.g. ADKAR, Lewin's Change Model, etc.).
Demonstrated understanding of analytical techniques.
Demonstrated understanding of modeling notations and flowcharting.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and basic data analysis tools.
Demonstrated ability to identify specific business opportunities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
Strong active listening, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
Ability to be resourceful and devise creative solutions to problems.
Ability to negotiate effectively and assist with facilitating meetings.
Ability to meet expectations as a dependable member of a team.
Ability to escalate issues appropriately.
Ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments and manage multiple priorities.
Change Analyst II:
Possess all of the required qualifications of a Change Analyst I, plus:
Four additional years of proven experience in change management, organizational change management, or a relevant field.
Demonstrated experience facilitating change management planning sessions.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Ability to develop and effectively communicate change management plans.
Ability to present information for decision making purposes with little to no direction.
Ability to negotiate effectively and facilitate meetings.
Strong time management skills and increased acumen for planning.
Change Analyst III:
Possess all of the required qualifications of a Change Analyst II, plus:
Two additional years of proven experience in change management, organizational change management, or a relevant field.
Ability to facilitate change management training and coaching sessions for stakeholders.
Ability to quickly learn the objectives, structures, operations, and policies of a new business area.
Strong problem resolution, negotiation, and influencing skills.
Demonstrated adaptability and a willingness to learn new skills.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders.
Change Analyst Sr:
Possess all of the required qualifications of a Change Analyst III, plus:
Three additional years of proven experience in change management, organizational change management, or relevant field.
Proven ability to ask tough questions and negotiate professionally and creatively to ensure the success of the organization and projects.
Proven ability to easily balance the organization's strategic vision with the daily operations of projects.
Comfortability with presenting at the senior executive level.
Proven mentoring ability.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced Prosci knowledge and certifications.
Knowledge of the BABOK® Guide and agile extension to the BABOK® Guide.
Knowledge of the PMBOK® Guide and Standards.
Knowledge of the Agile Software Development frameworks and principles.

Duties & Responsibilities
Change Analyst I:
Conducts change impact analyses across academic and administrative units.
Conducts stakeholder analyses and readiness assessments.
Develops communication plans and drafts targeted messages.
Supports training needs analysis and learning material development.
Tracks and reports organizational readiness, adoption metrics, and risks.
Prepares status updates and data-driven insights for leadership to inform decision-making.
Partners with project managers, business partners, and impacted teams to build relationships and ensure changes are integrated smoothly.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Change Analyst II:
Performs all duties and responsibilities of the Change Analyst I, plus:
Performs data discovery, analysis, and modeling.
Develops comprehensive change strategies, plans, and impact assessments.
Leads stakeholder engagement and manages resistance strategies.
Designs and delivers targeted communication and training programs.
Establishes success metrics and monitors change adoption.
Contribute to OCM capability-building.
Change Analyst III:
Performs all duties and responsibilities of the Change Analyst II, plus:
Leads enterprise-wide change strategy design and execution.
Partners with executives to align change initiatives with strategic priorities.
Oversees OCM workstreams across complex, multi-project environments.
Establishes organizational standards, tools, and best practices for OCM.
Coaches and develops junior and mid-level analysts to grow internal capability.
Change Analyst Sr:
Performs all duties and responsibilities of the Change Analyst III, plus:
Shapes enterprise-wide OCM strategy, frameworks, and governance models.
Facilitates OCM trainings.
